PLC Welcomes Launch of U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council

Washington, D.C. – Payments Leadership Council (PLC) Founding Director Raj Date issued the following statement on the announcement of the launch of the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC):

The Payments Leadership Council welcomes the launch of the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC). International trade and the free flow of data, goods, and services powers growth and expands economic opportunity on both sides of the Atlantic. We support closer U.S.-EU cooperation that promotes technological innovation, as well as addresses challenges that may arise.

The PLC represents the CEOs of the preeminent U.S.-based payments companies, and we fully endorse an open, secure, and rules-based transatlantic economic and technological relationship. We look forward to working with co-chairs Secretary Raimondo, U.S. Trade Representative Tai, and Secretary Blinken to achieve the shared goals of expanding bilateral trade and investment, lowering barriers to the digital economy, promoting internationally-accepted standards, and enabling innovation and inclusion.
