Statement From PLC Regarding CISA15 Reauthorization
1 min read

The Payments Leadership Council strongly urges Congress to reauthorize the Cyber Information Sharing Act of 2015 which provides vital tools and programs to safeguard the digital infrastructure that underpins commerce, consumers, and the broader financial system. The Senate recently introduced S. 2983, the Extending Expired Cybersecurity Authorities Act that would reauthorize the program for a decade. The PLC believes CISA15 provides essential authorities to strengthen the trust and cooperation that enables effective public-private collaboration and support Congress quickly adopting S.2983 or similar legislation that reauthorizes this program. Our members in the payments sector collectively process trillions of dollars each year and rely on CISA as a critical partner in sharing threat intelligence, testing resilience, and coordinating rapid responses to emerging risks. Renewing CISA’s mandate will preserve that foundation of trust, sustain operational readiness, and ensure our nation’s cyber defenses keep pace with a fast-evolving threat landscape.
